If you are like me, you have seen “Chaos Theory” mentioned
throughout your Veretekk site and wondered what it was. I have done so many
times and I finally stumbled upon the definition which is pasted below. Mystery
solved.
In closing, I would like to extend a special congratulation
to Greta Johnson on her very wise decision to upgrade to gold level membership.

Chaos Theory
What
exactly is chaos? The name "chaos theory" comes from the fact that the systems
that the theory describes are apparently disordered, but chaos theory is really
about finding the underlying order in apparently random data.
When was chaos first discovered?
The first true experimenter in chaos was a meteorologist, named Edward Lorenz.
In 1960, he was working on the problem of weather prediction. He had a computer
set up, with a set of twelve equations to model the weather. It didn't predict
the weather itself. However this computer program did theoretically predict what
the weather might be. One day in 1961, he wanted to see a particular sequence
again. To save time, he started in the middle of the sequence, instead of the
beginning. He entered the number off his printout and left to let it run.
When he
came back an hour later, the sequence had evolved differently.
Instead of the same pattern as before, it diverged from the pattern, ending up
wildly different from the original. (See figure 1.) Eventually he figured out
what happened. The computer stored the numbers to six decimal places in its
memory. To save paper, he only had it print out three decimal places. In the
original sequence, the number was .506127, and he had only typed the first three
digits, .506. By all conventional ideas of the time, it should have worked. He
should have gotten a sequence very close to the original sequence. A scientist
considers himself lucky if he can get measurements with accuracy to three
decimal places. Surely the fourth and fifth, impossible to measure using
reasonable methods, can't have a huge effect on the outcome of the experiment.
Lorenz proved this idea wrong.
This effect
came to be known as the butterfly effect. The amount of difference in the
starting points of the two curves is so small that it is comparable to a
butterfly flapping its wings.
The
flapping of a single butterfly's wing today produces a tiny change in the state
of the atmosphere. Over a period of time, what the atmosphere actually does
diverges from what it would have done. So, in a month's time, a tornado that
would have devastated the Indonesian coast doesn't happen. Or maybe one that
wasn't going to happen, does. (Ian Stewart, Does God Play Dice? The Mathematics
of Chaos, pg. 141)
This
phenomenon, common to chaos theory, is also known as sensitive dependence on
initial conditions.
Just a small change in the initial conditions can drastically change the
long-term behavior of a system. Such a small amount of difference in a
measurement might be considered experimental noise, background noise, or an
inaccuracy of the equipment. Such things are impossible to avoid in even the
most isolated lab. With a starting number of 2, the final result can be entirely
different from the same system with a starting value of 2.000001. It is
simply impossible to achieve this level of accuracy - just try and measure
something to the nearest millionth of an inch!
From this
idea, Lorenz stated that it is impossible to predict the weather accurately.
However, this discovery led Lorenz on to other aspects of what eventually came
to be known as chaos theory. Lorenz started to look for a simpler system that
had sensitive dependence on initial conditions. His first discovery had twelve
equations, and he wanted a much more simple version that still had this
attribute. He took the equations for convection, and stripped them down, making
them unrealistically simple. The system no longer had anything to do with
convection, but it did have sensitive dependence on its initial conditions, and
there were only three equations this time. Later, it was discovered that his
equations precisely described a water wheel.
At the top,
water drips steadily into containers hanging on the wheel's rim. Each container
drips steadily from a small hole. If the stream of water is slow, the top
containers never fill fast enough to overcome friction, but if the stream is
faster, the weight starts to turn the wheel. The rotation might become
continuous. Or if the stream is so fast that the heavy containers swing all the
way around the bottom and up the other side, the wheel might then slow, stop,
and reverse its rotation, turning first one way and then the other. (James
Gleick, Chaos - Making a New Science, pg. 29)
The equations for this system also seemed to give
rise to entirely random behavior.
However, when he graphed it, a surprising thing happened. The output always
stayed on a curve, a double spiral. There were only two kinds of order
previously known: a steady state, in which the variables never change, and
periodic behavior, in which the system goes into a loop, repeating itself
indefinitely. Lorenz's equations were definitely ordered - they always followed
a spiral. They never settled down to a
single point, but since they never repeated the same thing, they weren't
periodic either. He called the image he got when he graphed the equations the
Lorenz attractor.
In 1963,
Lorenz published a paper describing what he had discovered.
He included the unpredictability of the weather, and discussed the types of
equations that caused this type of behavior. Unfortunately, the only journal he
was able to publish in was a meteorological journal, because he was a
meteorologist, not a mathematician or a physicist. As a result, Lorenz's
discoveries weren't acknowledged until years later, when they were rediscovered
by others. Lorenz had discovered something revolutionary; now he had to wait
for someone to discover him.
Another
system in which sensitive dependence on initial conditions is evident is the
flip of a coin.
There are two variables in a flipping coin: how soon it hits the ground, and how
fast it is flipping. Theoretically, it should be possible to control these
variables entirely and control how the coin will end up. In practice, it is
impossible to control exactly how fast the coin flips and how high it flips. It
is possible to put the variables into a certain range, but it is impossible to
control it enough to know the final results of the coin toss.
A similar
problem occurs in ecology, and the prediction of biological populations.
The equation would be simple if population just rises indefinitely, but the
effect of predators and a limited food supply make this equation incorrect. The
simplest equation that takes this into account is the following:
next year's
population = r * this year's population * (1 - this year's population)
In this equation, the population is a number
between 0 and 1, where 1 represents the maximum possible population and 0
represents extinction. R is the growth rate. The question was, how does this
parameter affect the equation? The obvious answer is that a high growth rate
means that the population will settle down at a high population, while a low
growth rate means that the population will settle down to a low number. This
trend is true for some growth rates, but not for every one.
One
biologist, Robert May, decided to see what would happen to the equation as the
growth rate value changes.
At low values of the growth rate, the population would settle down to a single
number. For instance, if the growth rate value is 2.7, the population will
settle down to .6292. As the growth rate increased, the final population would
increase as well. Then, something weird happened.
As soon as
the growth rate passed 3, the line broke in two. Instead of settling down to a
single population, it would jump between two different populations. It would be
one value for one year, go to another value the next year, then repeat the cycle
forever. Raising the growth rate a little more caused it to jump between four
different values. As the parameter rose further, the line bifurcated (doubled)
again. The bifurcations came faster and faster until suddenly, chaos
appeared. Past a certain growth rate, it becomes impossible to predict the
behavior of the equation. However, upon closer inspection, it is possible to see
white strips. Looking closer at these strips reveals little windows of order,
where the equation goes through the bifurcations again before returning to
chaos. This self-similarity, the fact that the graph has an exact copy of
itself hidden deep inside, came to be an important aspect of chaos.
An employee
of IBM, Benoit Mandelbrot was a mathematician studying this self-similarity. One
of the areas he was studying was cotton price fluctuations. No matter how the
data on cotton prices was analyzed, the results did not fit the normal
distribution. Mandelbrot eventually obtained all of the available data on cotton
prices, dating back to 1900. When he analyzed the data with IBM's computers, he
noticed an astonishing fact:
The numbers
that produced aberrations from the point of view of normal distribution produced
symmetry from the point of view of scaling. Each particular price change was
random and unpredictable. But the sequence of changes was independent on scale:
curves for daily price changes and monthly price changes matched perfectly.
Incredibly, analyzed Mandelbrot's way, the degree of variation had remained
constant over a tumultuous sixty-year period that saw two World Wars and a
depression. (James Gleick, Chaos - Making a New Science, pg. 86)
Mandelbrot analyzed not only cotton prices, but
many other phenomena as well. At one
point, he was wondering about the length of a coastline. A map of a coastline
will show many bays. However, measuring the length of a coastline off a map will
miss minor bays that were too small to show on the map. Likewise, walking along
the coastline misses microscopic bays in between grains of sand. No matter how
much a coastline is magnified, there will be more bays visible if it is
magnified more.
One
mathematician, Helge von Koch, captured this idea in a mathematical construction
called the Koch curve. To create a Koch curve, imagine an equilateral triangle.
To the middle third of each side, add another equilateral triangle.
Keep on
adding new triangles to the middle part of each side, and the result is a Koch
curve. A magnification of the Koch curve looks exactly the same as the original.
It is another self-similar figure.
The Koch
curve brings up an interesting paradox. Each time new triangles are added to the
figure, the length of the line gets longer. However, the inner area of the Koch
curve remains less than the area of a circle drawn around the original triangle.
Essentially, it is a line of infinite length surrounding a finite area.
To get
around this difficulty, mathematicians invented fractal dimensions.
Fractal comes from the word fractional. The fractal dimension of the Koch curve
is somewhere around 1.26. A fractional dimension is impossible to conceive, but
it does make sense. The Koch curve is rougher than a smooth curve or line, which
has one dimension. Since it is rougher and more crinkly, it is better at taking
up space. However, it's not as good at filling up space as a square with two
dimensions is, since it doesn't really have any area. So it makes sense that the
dimension of the Koch curve is somewhere in between the two.
Fractal has
come to mean any image that displays the attribute of self-similarity. The
bifurcation diagram of the population equation is fractal. The Lorenz Attractor
is fractal. The Koch curve is fractal.
During this
time, scientists found it very difficult to get work published about chaos.
Since they had not yet shown the relevance to real-world situations, most
scientists did not think the results of experiments in chaos were important. As
a result, even though chaos is a mathematical phenomenon, most of the research
into chaos was done by people in other areas, such as meteorology and ecology.
The field of chaos sprouted up as a hobby for scientists working on problems
that maybe had something to do with it.
Later, a
scientist by the name of Feigenbaum was looking at the bifurcation diagram
again. He was looking at how fast the bifurcations come. He discovered that they
come at a constant rate. He calculated it as 4.669. In other words, he
discovered the exact scale at which it was self-similar. Make the diagram 4.669
times smaller, and it looks like the next region of bifurcations. He decided to
look at other equations to see if it was possible to determine a scaling factor
for them as well. Much to his surprise, the scaling factor was exactly the same.
Not only was this complicated equation displaying regularity, the regularity
was exactly the same as a much simpler equation. He tried many other
functions, and they all produced the same scaling factor, 4.669. This was a
revolutionary discovery. He had found that a whole class of mathematical
functions behaved in the same, predictable way. This universality would help
other scientists easily analyze chaotic equations. Universality gave
scientists the first tools to analyze a chaotic system. Now they could use a
simple equation to predict the outcome of a more complex equation. Many
scientists were exploring equations that created fractal equations. The most
famous fractal image is also one of the most simple. It is known as the
Mandelbrot set.
The
equation is simple: z=z2+c. To see if a point is part of the Mandelbrot set,
just take a complex number z. Square it, then add the original number. Square
the result, then add the original number. Repeat that ad infinitum, and if the
number keeps on going up to infinity, it is not part of the Mandelbrot set. If
it stays down below a certain level, it is part of the Mandelbrot set. The
Mandelbrot set is the innermost section of the picture, and each different shade
of gray represents how far out that particular point is. One interesting feature
of the Mandelbrot set is that the circular humps match up to the bifurcation
graph. The Mandelbrot fractal has the same self-similarity seen in the other
equations. In fact, zooming in deep enough on a Mandelbrot fractal will
eventually reveal an exact replica of the Mandelbrot set, perfect in every
detail.
Fractal
structures have been noticed in many real-world areas, as well as in
mathematician's minds. Blood vessels branching out further and further, the
branches of a tree, the internal structure of the lungs, graphs of stock market
data, and many other real-world systems all have something in common: they are
all self-similar.
Scientists
at UC Santa Cruz found chaos in a dripping water faucet.
By recording a dripping faucet and recording the periods of time, they
discovered that at a certain flow velocity, the dripping no longer occurred at
even times. When they graphed the data, they found that the dripping did indeed
follow a pattern.
The human
heart also has a chaotic pattern.
The time between beats does not remain constant; it depends on how much activity
a person is doing, among other things. Under certain conditions, the heartbeat
can speed up. Under different conditions, the heart beats erratically. It might
even be called a chaotic heartbeat. The analysis of a heartbeat can help medical
researchers find ways to put an abnormal heartbeat back into a steady state,
instead of uncontrolled chaos.
Researchers
discovered a simple set of three equations that graphed a fern.
This started a new idea - perhaps DNA encodes not exactly where the leaves grow,
but a formula that controls their distribution. DNA, even though it holds an
amazing amount of data, could not hold all of the data necessary to determine
where every cell of the human body goes. However, by using fractal formulas to
control how the blood vessels branch out and the nerve fibers get created, DNA
has more than enough information. It has even been speculated that the brain
itself might be organized somehow according to the laws of chaos.
Chaos even has applications outside of science. Computer art has become more
realistic through the use of chaos and fractals. Now, with a simple formula, a
computer can create a beautiful, and realistic tree. Instead of following a
regular pattern, the bark of a tree can be created according to a formula that
almost, but not quite, repeats itself.
Music can
be created using fractals as well.
Using the Lorenz attractor, Diana S. Dabby, a graduate student in electrical
engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has created variations
of musical themes. ("Bach to Chaos: Chaotic Variations on a Classical Theme",
Science News, Dec. 24, 1994) By associating the musical notes of a piece of
music like Bach's Prelude in C with the x coordinates of the Lorenz attractor,
and running a computer program, she has created variations of the theme of the
song. Most musicians who hear the new sounds believe that the variations are
very musical and creative.
Veretekk
employs this theory in it's very core in all of it's marketing systems. For
example, we offer 20 templates you choose when you send out verification
requests to the FFA leads that come in everyday from the multitude of
submissions that are placed in our site at ffafarm.com.
You can
submit every day or once a week or every now and then.
We do not tell you what you need to do. The templates you have to choose from
very considerably. We do not tell you which one to use. It is totally up to you.
This way every one gets different results. Some better some worse always
changing, always vital like a living organism. Chaos theory at work!
These
variables are like Fractals within the marketing and lead systems in everything
you do within Veretekk.
We do not
offer scripts to read from. We do not offer email letter templates. We teach how
to write letters, but we do not tell you what to say. We teach you how the
system works, but we will not tell you what to do "step by step". There is no
"step by step" process using Veretekk. Veretekk has many, many ways to be used.
In fact, more ways then "we the designers" even imagined. But we do know this,
the results speak for themselves! Every subscriber has some sort of success.
Some better than others at any certain time with that changing as well.

4. Veretekk Tips # 16 Tough Times
Hi
Hi %%name%5;
We are living through some tough economic times. The stock market is in the
tank. Energy costs are at all time highs and on the rise. Food prices are
rising rapidly. Joblessness is on the rise. The cost of travel, whether by
car or air, is way up with no end in sight. Many households are barely
hanging on. Are you feeling the pinch? If so, you are not alone.
Now more than ever, a home based business can provide the supplemental
income you need to make ends meet. I would guess that you already have a
business of some kind either planned or in place. Am I right?
%%name%%, when you signed up for a silver Veretekk system, you probably
did so to use the marketing power of Veretekk for one of two reasons.
Either you wanted to produce business leads or you wanted to use the
search engine optimization features to move a website up in the search
engine rankings. Maybe you wanted both.
As a silver (free) subscriber, you can produce some limited results
in both the leads and SEO areas without paying. If you want to learn
how, you should begin attending as many of the Veretraining classes
on different subjects as you possibly can. The classes cover the
specifics on how to apply the Veretekk features to your specific
business situation. The classes also cover the limits of the trainee
system and the clear advantages you will have as a paid subscriber.
As a free subscriber, you should begin recruiting other silver
members on your first level under you. When each of these silvers
upgrade, you will earn a $60 commission, even though you haven't
upgraded yet. Even better, these silvers are premium leads that you
can promote any business you have to them. You can use your
commissions to fund your gold upgrade without any out of pocket
expense, a real plus in these economic times.
As a gold member, my Veretekk system has been paying me for about three
years now. The commissions I earn cover my monthly membership fee and
put money in my pocket besides. Believe me, if I can do it, so can you.
All you have to do is start recruiting people to your team.
I recruit a lot of people into Veretekk and give them all away to others.
I closely watch my genealogy chart for activity. When I see a member that
has recruited a new member, Yes, I can see if you are working this program
or not, I transfer additional members to their downline to help them grow
their team. In some companies, that is referred to as spillover, but I like
to think of it as teamwork. If you want help growing your team, begin
recruiting and I will help you. I will help you but I won't do it for you.
%%name%%; I would like to leave you with this parting thought. Having a
Veretekk system is a lot like having a Corvette in the driveway. It may be
nice to look at, but until you actually fire it up and put it in gear, you
won't get anywhere with it.
To your great success;

Weaning Yourself off of Silver is Important
Weaning Yourself off of Silver is Important
The purpose of the
silver system is to give one a chance to learn some of the Veretekk Gold
system for free. Staying with a Veretekk Silver account without upgrading to
Gold is simply a bad idea. As Silver you are missing the opportunity to drill
your keywords to as many
classified ads sites
as you wish, and have them all linked together. You are not able to
harvest over 2000
free leads per day, and you are not able to
upload 10,000 leads per
day for double opt in email verification. You are deprived of the extreme
benefits of the Premium Leads Management Back Office that you
don't even see, and you cannot communicate with your premium leads
on a daily basis.
Of the 23 Traffic Portals, You can only
hammer one of
them
The ability to hammer your portals once per day is a lead generating
tool which will add multiple double opt in leads to your down line every day.
Being able to hammer a portal will generate many home based business leads.
No Vanity Responder for Silvers
Auto responders are a critical and necessary part of any system designed to
make money on the internet. Being able to construct sequential letters for any
portal or any Internet business is an asset that you need. You also need to have
access to it in order to learn. Vanity responders will generate many home
based business leads for you which are high quality.
Upgrade as soon as you can to reap the rewards of the Veretekk Lead
Generation and Management system.
If you want to generate Home based business leads quickly you
will definitely have to upgrade from your Current Veretekk Silver account to a
gold account. What are you waiting on? You are also missing an additional 20 SEO
portals as silver. Go Gold Now.

8. Broaden Your Marketing Reach
Hi
Hi %%name%5;

Hello
Hello %%name%%;
Welcome to another edition of my weekly Veretekk Tips
newsletter. This newsletter is being sent to both silver and gold affiliates so
I have created two sections in this issue, one for silver and one for gold.
Silver Section
%%name%%, you should have found the Veretraining section in
your back office by now. If you haven't experienced it yet, you are in for a
pleasant surprise. Just login to your Veretekk website and click the
Veretraining link at the top of the main page. Then click the calendar button to
find when the classes are scheduled.
As a free silver member and without even upgrading, you can
earn commissions by advertising your affiliate URL. Advertising your affiliate
URL makes sense for two reasons, one is commissions, and the other is in
building a lead list of serious prospects who are the kind of leads that money
cannot buy, Your leads list will continue to grow as long as you keep
advertising.
%%name%%; Your silver membership can be likened to a kid's
first bicycle with training wheels. By all means, take advantage of your free
membership to learn all you can about how to become successful marketing on
line. You have not made any cash investment so the only thing you are investing
is a little of your time. Sooner or later, you will no longer need training
wheels and you will see the value of a gold level membership.
Gold Section
%%name%%;
Did you know that I have transferred 175 silver members
among you, since the first of the year. In most companies, that is known as
spillover, but I prefer to think of it as team building. Getting your silvers
involved in Veretekk and getting them to upgrade is your job. I encourage you to
start a weekly newsletter, similar to this one, to communicate with your team.
My newsletters come to you because you are in my first level. They do not go to
your team unless you re-send it to them through your Bully Pulpit. If you need
help, call me.
Here is a list of steps you can take to recruit more team
members.
1. Use the hammer daily.
2. Use the drill daily.
3. Use your blog daily.

Hello;
Welcome to another edition of my weekly Veretekk Tips newsletter.
The ideal time management strategy is to spend 100% of your time on
activities put your offer in front of others and 0% of your time reviewing other
people's offers. I know from experience that your in-box can be a very good
friend, but it can also be your worst enemy. How well you succeed in your
business will be determined on how you deal with distractions like the in-box
that can rob you of the focus you need to conduct your business activities.
That wraps it up for another week. In closing, please read

Internet Business - Little Known
Ways To Succeeding Online
Just how important is time management within your network marketing internet
business. We’re here to tell you it’s vital. Without a proper time management
strategy in place it’s almost impossible to produce a consistent flow of
productivity on a daily basis.
The ideal scenario in life today is to be able to work from home and derive your
income “working in your pajamas” so to speak. The idea is good but do you know
most cannot make it work, not because of the business they’re in but because
they have no structure in their day-to-day running of that business.
The first mistake people running a network marketing internet business make is
they relax. They relax in the sense that there is no supervisor looking over
their shoulder. They make their own decisions, set their own time and work when
they want to.
The problem with this is distractions will take over – the phone, checking
emails, surf the web, checking emails, listening to the radio, watching TV and
did I mention checking emails?
It’s an all too familiar scenario. It leads to procrastination and analysis
paralysis…”oh, I’ll get to that tomorrow” or “let me just finish watching this
show and then I’ll get to it.”
You see, a home business owner is accountable to no-one but themselves and this
is where this system is flawed.
Network Marketing Internet Business Time Management
Network marketers are not the only ones who struggle; statistics show more than
95 per cent of home business owners never make a dime in their business. So
what's the problem?
Many wouldn't consider bad time management as a major reason but the reality is,
it's just about the major cause of home business failure. Those who implement
solid time management practices into their business will give themselves a
flying start in their quest for success.
Let's take a look at a time management plan you can implement in your home-based
business which can have a dramatic effect on your productivity levels.
1. The first thing you need to do above anything else is find yourself a mentor.
No, we're not suggesting a "Mr. Miyagi" type mentor but someone you literally
fear in letting down.
2. Make sure you set yourself a set work schedule. Be vigilant here. Set work
hours which cannot be negotiated on except in emergency.
3. Treat these work hours such as you would a job. Turn off appliances in the
home which can be disruptive.
4. If you spend a lot of time online then you'll be checking emails on a regular
basis. Check them first thing in the morning and don't check them again until
you've finished your tasks.
5. Set yourself some small attainable goals during the day. They only need to be
minor but attractive enough for you to want to reach.
6. Start with the toughest and most important tasks first. Don't just write a to
do list but list the actionable tasks associated with them such as phone
numbers. An Renegade network marketing internet business needs actionable tasks
with deadlines encourage productivity.
Regardless of our company, product, or services, what we are really selling is
our time when we are in free enterprise. Most people don’t have a true concept
of money, and they don’t realize that time is money, and so almost everyone
gives their time away.
We hear in corporate America and in investing the term ”ROI” a lot which stands
for “Return On Investment,” but what is much more important to an entrepreneur
is our “ROTAE” or “Return On Time, Action, and Energy.” These are our strongest
resources and we cannot afford to waste time. Most people view that time works
against them as an enemy. Successful people use time as their ally. There are
86,400 seconds, or 1,440 minutes, or 24 hours in every day. Success is not
really about what we do, but what we do daily. Time is our most precious
resource and everything we produce is a byproduct of how we manage ourselves in
the time we are given each day.
On a daily basis, I devote 14 to 16 hours to my craft, which I truly love,
personal development and self-empowerment. I have never for one minute
considered devoting this much time to my freedom as work. When you love what you
do it is a pleasurable endeavor, not a painful one. When I sit down to do my
tasks I know what I desire to accomplish and I make good use of my time.
As I stated earlier, most people don’t have a concept of time or money. Mention
money and people become very uncomfortable. Mention time management and you get
similar responses. When it comes to time, the average person equates time with
work and that they have to “work hard.” In free enterprise, we don’t get paid
for time. “Trading time for dollars,” is what most Americans do over and over,
which is called a job, and jobs usually keep people broke because they are paid
what the job is worth. The average person then brings a $10 - $15 an hour job
mentality to their enterprise and is under the misconception that if they ‘work
real hard’ they will get rich. Occasionally this philosophy works, but not very
often. To be successful in free enterprise, our thoughts about time and time
management must change. We get paid for ‘results’, not ‘time,’ and if we want to
make more money here we have to become more ‘valuable’. How valuable we become
through the service we perform is a real key issue. The key question we should
be asking ourselves is, “How do I turn time into money?” How we manage our time
effectively is going to have a direct reflection on our overall long-term
results. I have found through my numerous years as an entrepreneur that there
are four phases of the way people manage or mismanage their time: 1. spare time,
2. part-time, 3. full-time, and 4. all-the-time. Unfortunately, most people
confuse themselves and think they are doing one of these last three phases when
really they are spare time because that is the kind of effort they are devoting
to their freedom.
Let’s look at time management. The term ‘time management’ is really a misnomer
because time itself is really unmanageable. It is a resource constantly being
depleted at a predictable rate – 60 minutes an hour, 24 hours a day, 365 days a
year. What we have the ability to do is manage ourselves in a way that will make
effective use of time. There are two key components to managing ourselves that
have to be understood. The distinction between them can assist us to take stress
out of our lives and put more productivity, satisfaction, and freedom into it.
These components are efficiency and effectiveness. The distinction is efficiency
is doing a task correctly, while effectiveness is measured in results, and when
we are in free enterprise results are everything.
A big mistake I see people making is trying to make better use of their time by
trying to do what they are currently doing more efficiently. It is a good idea,
but the wrong starting point. It doesn’t matter how efficiently we manage our
time if we aren’t spending it pursuing the results we desire. Our most effective
use of time is the action part of the process, and 80% of our time should be
spent prospecting and attracting new accounts, not shuffling papers, reading
books, listening to tapes, gossiping, procrastinating, getting ready to get
ready, and a multitude of other excuses people use to divert their attention
from the very physical activity that will pay them. Do the right tasks
inefficiently and our businesses will survive. Do the wrong tasks efficiently
and we will go broke. Take the right action efficiently and someday we will be
set for life. Efficiency is only valuable when it contributes to effectiveness.
Do what is urgent first, not what is important. Becoming successful requires a
mindset that creates urgency in numbers, in action, in task, in leadership, and
in all areas. Successful people get tasks done now – that is self-motivation.
Average people don’t take on this sense of urgency; they ‘get to it’ when it is
important, and usually too late; the train has left; they procrastinate. The
ability to distinguish between urgency and importance is crucial to creating and
living successfully because the inability to distinguish between them gets many
people in trouble and ultimately results in broken dreams and shattered lives.
Every day we have situations that arise – situations happen, and we have things
to do. Some are urgent and some are important, some are both, and some are
neither. We have to understand that urgent situations are seldom important and
important situations are seldom urgent. Most people spend 80% of their lives
responding to the urgent as if everything that is urgent is important. You have
to learn to separate the two. It is important that you take the proper action
with a sense of urgency but not with a panicked or fear-stricken mindset. For
instance, closing a sale or enrolling a client to use your product is urgent,
but developing a flourishing organization is more important. Having a new car
and wardrobe is urgent for a lot of people, but saving, investing, and
developing a prosperity consciousness is much more important to becoming
financially independent.
If we spend our time overreacting to the tyranny of the urgent, our lives will
be far less successful than they could be. This is the very reason so many
people today are working harder, living poorer, and feeling more time starved.
They allow urgent situations to dictate how their time is spent and important
situations go neglected. I am sure you can imagine what happens when important
situations are neglected. Sooner or later they become urgent and important. They
end up becoming crisis, i.e. money crisis, health crisis, enterprise crisis,
family crisis, etc. Most would be preventable if we chose to spend our time
doing what is important instead of overreacting to what is urgent. We have to
learn that we are the sum of our choices and decisions. One of the most
important choices we can make is to decide what is important, then commit
ourselves to spending your time achieving important results, rather than
responding to urgent and unimportant distractions. Procrastinating and getting
ready to get ready is the main thief of the dreams of the average entrepreneur.
Turning Time into Results is a Three Step
Process
Step One: Stating Your Mission
It is imperative that you create a mission and vision statement. If you don’t
know where you are going, how are you going to get there? This step tells you
what is most important. The purpose of your mission statement is to remind you
of the values your enterprise is built on. Since time is your most valuable
commodity, your time must be spent in effort in line with your values. This will
assist you in turning time into results, i.e. prospecting, recruiting, teaching,
training, developing leaders, growth, change, and letting go simultaneously.
You’ll also begin to enjoy the process. This is why it is important that you
have a well – defined mission and vision for your enterprise. If you don’t have
a mission and vision statement yet, do it now. Once you have a clear picture of
how you plan to create value for your customers and associates and you know
where you desire your vehicle to take you, you will begin to turn time into
results.
Step Tow: A Game Plan for Results – Your Daily Method of Operation
Develop a plan of action and stick to the plan – hold yourself accountable. Set
specific goals and priorities. Develop a daily method of operation and put it on
paper. Know exactly what your plan is and follow through. Put your specific
goals and actions on paper and go over it nightly to hold yourself accountable.
This will assist you to stay on track. Chart your time. I ask my clients all of
the time to tell me what they have done in the past few days, and very few can
ever recall what they have done. When you put your game plan down on paper and
follow through on your intentions, then your productivity and the way you manage
your time will greatly improve. In the time you a lot to propel you to your
goals, do what will bring you the greatest results long term. At least 80% of
your time should be devoted to prospecting and recruiting new customers in the
early going. Entrepreneurship requires momentum to create compounded results.
Momentum is created through simple disciplines factored consistently over a long
period of time. In the beginning, your weekly goal is usually to recruit one
person per week to your products, services, and opportunity. This would be a
total of 52 clients per year that you personally enrolled, not counting how your
organization produced. Eventually, your weekly goal will increase to two new
people per week, totaling 104 new people per year you personally recruited. This
only happens with consistent effort seven days a week over a period of time. It
doesn’t happen over night. It is a process to collect the payoff. Don’t seek
perfection; seek efficiency at what you do.
Step Three: Develop New Thought Patterns and Creative Habits
The books you read, the tapes you listen to, and the people you spend time with
are all components of your reality. As you go through the process of success,
the people you meet and situations you create will change as you change and
grow. It is important to begin spending time with people that empower you and to
detach from those who are disempowering. It is difficult to soar with eagles
when you rest on the ground with turkeys. Start studying successful people and
watch what they do. Interview successful people whenever and wherever the
opportunity present itself. I have spent the last fifteen years pouring through
books and tapes on self-help, motivation, investing, money, spirituality, and
have attended hundreds of seminars and workshops all for the purpose of becoming
a better person. I have learned to let go of old self – limiting thoughts and
doubts, forgiven myself for past failures and challenges, and most importantly,
forgiven others who may have harmed me. The thoughts you think today will be a
large part of what dictates your future.
Setting Your Goals and Establishing Your Why’s
Your vision and mission statement will give you a view of your destination and a
general picture of what you desire to achieve and become. Setting your goals and
priorities is going to be very important, especially when it comes to
determining where your time is most effectively spent to achieve the results you
desire.
Set goals that are your own, not someone else’s. It is your enterprise, your
career, and your future. Take charge and do what is meaningful and best for you
both short term and long term. It is not selfish to think of you first. You are
in the process of change and as you change you will be able to assist others
with change also. Don’t operate from the advice of your family and friends
unless they are successful entrepreneurs and have succeed in what you are doing.
Remember, your ultimate success is going to be up to you. Make sure and put your
goals in writing because this increases clarity and commitment. Your goals
should be challenging, yet attainable. Don’t set down a $500,000 a year goal if
you have never made a penny in your industry. You want your goals to be
reachable and to allow you to stretch and grow in order to attain. When goals
are set that are impossible, most people give up way too easily, and when they
are too easy, most people get bored. Worthwhile goals are the ones you can
achieve by pushing yourself to perform better than you have previously. It is
okay to think big, but you have to act big. My father once said to me, “Son, it
ain’t braggin’ if you can back it up.”
All goals should have deadlines. If it doesn’t have a target date for
completion, then it is really not a goal; it is a daydream. You have to have
dreams and you have to set goals, but what is much more important is to be a
goal getter not a goal setter. As an entrepreneur, it works out best that you
monitor yourself and you have performance or qualifying terms that will enhance
you to measure your progress. Your daily goals should have a performance
indicator and criteria for success at the start of your endeavor. Major goals
should be measurable so that you have a way of keeping track of results for a
month, 90 days, 6 months, and one year.
Every major goal should have performance criteria for a particular success. If
you are vague or unable to see what you desire to achieve, it isn’t clear enough
in your own mind to be a goal. You have to set your priorities to attain your
most essential goals. Some goals are more important than others. Some you must
do! Some you should do. List your goals in order of importance and make sure you
achieve the most important ones. Great time management means doing the difficult
things first.
Turning time into results begins with investing a large chunk on you and also
stems from action. You always want to be asking yourself this key question:
“What did I do today that moved me closer to my goals or further from my goals?”
A daily inventory list lets you know how much progress you are really achieving.
Most people value their time so little that when I ask them what they did two
days ago they can’t recall. Successful people once again understand that time is
their most valuable commodity and they don’t waste it – they make time work for
them. I can recall what I do every day because I know how to turn time into
results. I keep a daily planner of all my activities. Before I go to bed I list
out everything that I will accomplish the following day. All of my appointments
are listed in my day timer that I follow rigidly. I’m very thorough on my call
backs and follow ups. I’m always preparing for my next events, speaking
engagements, etc. As an entrepreneur, you should always have next week’s leads
in place and your ads placed.

Keywords
Keywords are the words that web surfers enter in search
engines to find websites. It's pointless to optimize your web pages for keywords
that nobody uses in the search engines.
For a successful online marketing campaign, you must target
the right keywords. The keywords you use should be relevant for your website and
web surfers should be searching for your keywords.
If you target the wrong keywords, your website promotion
efforts will be in vain and you will waste a lot of time and money. There are
three different keyword types: keywords for browsing, keywords for comparing and
keywords for buying.
Keywords for comparing are usually the keywords that work
best for search engine optimization. People who use that keyword type are
looking for a solution to their problem and they are ready to buy. To get best
results with your search engine optimization efforts, you should concentrate on
that keyword type.
Most people use a two to four word phrase in a search, so
phrases are very effective. Single words cannot be promoted effectively because
they are not very targeted. Internet users who use four-word searches are more
likely to purchase goods or services than those using fewer words (source:
Oneupweb Research).
If you target the wrong keywords, you will lose time and
money.
You will invest a lot of time in optimizing your web pages
for keywords for which your website cannot get high rankings at the moment. Or
you will invest a lot of time in optimizing your web pages for keywords that
don't convert to sales.
It is very important that you choose the right keywords
that lead to high search engine rankings and sales. Make sure that you choose
the correct keyword type.
Use this tool to get a list of keywords.
http://freekeywords.wordtracker.com/ . Use the tool to find the right
keywords. Compile a keyword list of 10-40 keywords. Start with multiple word
keywords and then extend your keyword list.
One word keywords are not very effective because they are
not very targeted. In addition, the competition for these keywords is very high
and it is very difficult to get good rankings for them. I know that Web surfers
